Yeb Wiersma graduated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (Fine Arts) in Amsterdam after which she continued her studies at Cooper Union in NYC and was selected as an artist-in-residence at van Eyck Academie, Maastricht. Her works have been presented by De Oude Kerk, A Tale of a Tub, WEST, FOAM Amsterdam, NEST, Migrant Journal, Jinji Lake Art Museum Suzhou a.o.


Her PROJECTS combine film, photography, interventions, performance and text. With her hybrid oeuvre she evokes surprising, migratory relations and realities between different people, (in)animate objects, times and places, (in)visible forces, as well as knowledge- and value systems.
By doing so, she aims to explore how the nature and language of these constructed narratives can be re-imagined and set in motion through visual and spatial interpretation.
