Yeb Wiersma graduated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (Fine Arts) in Amsterdam after which she continued her studies at Cooper Union in NYC and was selected as an artist-in-residence at van Eyck Academie, Maastricht. Her works have been presented by De Oude Kerk, A Tale of a Tub, WEST, FOAM Amsterdam, Migrant Journal, Kröller Müller Museum a.o.

Her PROJECTS combine film, photography, interventions, performance and text. With her hybrid oeuvre she evokes fresh, migratory relations and realities between different people, times and places, (in)animate objects and (in)visible forces.
By doing so, she aims to explore how the nature and language of these constructed narratives, of our (often binary) knowledge- and value systems can be re-imagined and set in motion through visual and spatial interpretation.

Her learning PRACTICE is shaped by the belief that being in motion and in relation, and the application of observational skills, spark sensory and alternative routes of knowledge making. On this occasion she recently co-established: www.glubbdubdrib.org
